Tour Details
The group will meet at the Iquitos pier to begin this tour of the neighbourhood of Belén, on the shores of the Itaya River. The tour starts with a visit to the Belén market to learn about the food customs and daily lives of the locals. Following this, there will be a walk along the Pasaje Paquito, known for exotic products and natural medicine.
Depending on the season, a walking tour or canoe tour along the Amazonian Venice will be conducted. This area features wooden houses built on stilts above the water. Additionally, you can choose on the day of the tour to visit another area famous for piranha fishing.
After 4 hours, we will return to the starting point to conclude the tour of the neighbourhood of Belén.
Itinerary Changes
The tour is either on foot or by canoe, depending on the season. From November to June, the houses float on the river, and we'll use a traditional canoe. In the dry season, from July to October, the area is transitable, allowing exploration on foot.
