Iquitos Guided Tour

At 9 am, we'll meet at Avenida Antonio Raimondi to start a comprehensive tour of Iquitos. During the tour, we will discover the main attractions of this city located on the banks of the Amazon River and delve into its history.

We'll explore the historic center of Iquitos, admiring mansions decorated with tiles brought from Europe during the rubber boom of the late 19th century.

We will see the façade of the Casa de Fierro, designed by Gustave Eiffel, and visit the Museum of Indigenous Amazonian Cultures, showcasing handicrafts, textiles, and objects from local ethnic groups.

The next stop will be at the Mercado de Belén, where you can experience local life and see a variety of goods including fruits and fish.

After the market, we'll have about an hour free for lunch at a restaurant. Afterwards, we'll board a minibus to visit a manatee rescue center, learning about efforts to save these mammals from extinction.

The last stop will be at the Quistococha Zoo, home to many Amazonian species, including jaguars, monkeys, tapirs, caimans, snakes, and macaws. You'll have the chance to see them up close.

At 5 pm, the tour will conclude back at the starting point.
