Momon or San Antonio Rivers 6 or 7-Day Cruise

On this 6 to 7-day tour from Iquitos, we will explore the Amazon basin, traveling along the Momon and San Antonio rivers and visiting a riverside community.

Description

Day 1

The tour begins with a pickup from your hotel in Iquitos or the airport, followed by a transfer to the riverport for a boat ride along the Amazon River. We will visit a natural reserve to observe Victoria Regia and an animal sanctuary to see various Amazonian species. The day concludes at our campsite after dinner and a night jungle excursion.

Day 2

We will start early for bird watching at sunrise before breakfast. Then, we will take a boat ride down the Momon River and visit towering sequoia trees. After lunch, there will be an opportunity for piranha fishing. The day ends with a movie featuring the Momon River region.

Day 3

We will continue with early bird watching and breakfast. Later, we will visit the Padrecocha village and witness its butterflies. After lunch, we will go for a kayak tour along the Momon River before dinner and a relaxing evening at the campsite.

Day 4

After breakfast, we will navigate the Momon, Nanay, Amazon, and Itaya rivers to see pink dolphins and explore Belen. Our visit to the native community of San Andres will provide insight into local customs. Night walk concludes the day.

Day 5

After breakfast, we will continue to the riverside community of San Antonio for a hike among giant trees. The afternoon is free for relaxation, followed by dinner and a nighttime jungle walk.

Day 6

Breakfast at camp precedes our Iquitos tour, including visits to Plaza de Armas, the Amazon Museum, Belen floating market, and Quistococha. Lunch will be provided before transportation back to your hotel or the airport by 5 pm.

7-Day Tour

The 7-day option follows the same itinerary for the first three days. On Day 4, we will share lunch with tribes in San Antonio and take a guided jungle walk. Day 5 involves breakfast with village members, fishing, and a return to the campsite. Day 6 will again include visits to Belen and San Andres. The final day includes the same Iquitos and Quistococha tour with a 5 pm departure.

Accommodation

The tour includes a 5-night stay with full board at the Amazon Camp Lodge. Rooms have private bathrooms. For the 7-day tour, the 4th night will be spent in a San Antonio cabana. Prices are per person for double rooms, and children under 5 can join for free when accompanied by an adult.
