Pacaya Samiria 3 Day Tour

Day 1

After picking you up in Iquitos at 8 am, we'll board a bus to Nauta. From there, we'll travel to the Marañon River for a 3.5-hour boat trip to see its deep canyons. Afterward, we’ll set up camp and enjoy a typical Peruvian meal with vegetarian options before exploring the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve and visiting Huaylla lake to observe wildlife, including herons and pink river dolphins. After dinner, we'll explore the area at night to observe nocturnal animals and return to camp for rest.

Day 2

Following a full breakfast, we’ll return to Pacaya Samiria National Reserve to set up camp. Throughout the day, we will observe the flora and fauna, including birds like the yellow-crowned parrot, sloths, and monkeys. In the evening, we'll take a boat ride to spot caimans, turtles, and anacondas, then return to camp for the night.

Day 3

The final day focuses on Indigenous fishing traditions, where we will fish for piranhas. After breakfast, we’ll re-enter the jungle to appreciate the landscape and wildlife. After lunch, we’ll head back to Nauta by boat and take a bus back to Iquitos.

5-Day Tour

The 5-day tour allows for 2 additional days in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

Accommodation

Accommodation options include staying at the base camp in a private room with a shared bathroom or camping in the jungle. You may choose 1-2 nights in each location or a total of 2-4 nights in one setting.

Pickup point

Pickup is available from your hotel in Iquitos or at Iquitos Airport for flights arriving before 12 pm.

Minimum age restriction

The minimum age to participate is 7 years old.

Adventure tour

The 3 or 5-day tour to Pacaya Samiria offers a unique experience in the Amazon. Expect no mobile coverage or private bathrooms. Please bring mineral water, batteries, a flashlight, and mosquito repellent.
