Pacaya Samiria 3 Day Tour

Dare to spend three days in Pacaya Samiria and enjoy a complete Amazon rainforest experience. You will encounter amazing creatures both day and night.

Pacaya Samiria 3 Day Tour

Day 1

After pickup in Iquitos at 8 am, we will travel by bus to Nauta, then proceed to the Marañon River. A boat will take us on a 3.5-hour trip along the river. After setting up camp for the night, we will rest before exploring the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. A typical Peruvian meal will be provided, with vegetarian options available. We will take another boat to Huaylla Lake, observing wildlife such as herons, shanshos, camungos, and pink river dolphins. At night, we will see tarantulas and hear exotic nocturnal animals before returning to the camp for rest.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will return to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve to set up camp for the night. We will observe various flora and fauna, including birds and mammals like sloths and monkeys. A night boat ride will reveal caimans, turtles, and anacondas in their natural habitat before returning to camp.

Day 3

The final day focuses on Indigenous fishing traditions, hunting fish such as piranhas. After breakfast, we will explore the jungle again, then return to camp for a meal. Finally, we will travel back to Nauta by boat and then take a bus back to Iquitos.

5-Day Tour

For a longer experience, the 5-day tour allows for 2 additional days in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

Accommodation

Accommodations are within the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, with options of a private room with shared bathroom at the base camp or camping in the jungle. You can choose to mix nights between both types or stay in one place for the duration.

Pickup point

Pickup is included from your hotel in Iquitos or Iquitos Airport for flights arriving before 12 pm.

Minimum age restriction

The minimum age to participate is 7 years old.

Adventure tour

The 3 or 5-day tour is a unique Amazon jungle experience, away from civilization. Please bring mineral water, batteries, a flashlight, mosquito repellent, and motivation for the adventure!
