Pacaya Samiria 3 Day Tour

Day 1

Pickup in Iquitos at 8 am will be followed by a bus ride to Nauta. From there, we will travel to the Marañon River, where a boat will take us on a 3.5-hour trip. After arriving at the camp, tents will be set up for the night. We will have a typical Peruvian menu, with vegetarian options available, before exploring the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. A boat trip to Huaylla lake will offer wildlife viewing, including herons, shanshos, camungos, and pink river dolphins. At night, sightings of tarantulas and sounds of nocturnal animals will be experienced. We will return to the camp for rest.

Day 2

After breakfast, we head back into the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve to set up the camp for the night. We will witness various species of flora and fauna, including birds like the yellow-crowned parrot, sloths, and monkeys. A night boat ride will allow us to see caimans, turtles, and anacondas. We will return to the camp to spend our last night in the Amazon.

Day 3

The final day will focus on Indigenous fishing traditions, including hunting for piranhas. After breakfast, we will explore the jungle and return to the camp for a meal. We will then take a boat back to Nauta and a bus to Iquitos.

5-Day Tour

A 5-day tour is available for further exploration of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

Accommodation

Accommodation options include a base camp with a private room and shared bathroom or camping in the jungle. Choices for number of nights in each place can be customized.

Pickup point

Pickup is available from your hotel in Iquitos or Iquitos Airport for flights arriving before 12 pm.

Minimum age restriction

The minimum age to participate is 7 years.
