Discover one of the natural jewels of the Peruvian Amazon with this Pacaya Samiria 3 or 4-Day Tour. This trip starts from Iquitos.

3-Day Tour

Day 1

You will be picked up from the airport or your hotel in Iquitos and driven to the port of Nauta. Here, you will board a speedboat to begin your journey down the Marañon River, observing pink dolphins. After a traditional lunch, you will reach the campsite in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve and set up tents. You will explore the Huaylla Lagoon and enjoy dinner in nature, followed by a nocturnal trek for wildlife spotting.

Day 2

On Day 2, early morning will be for sunrise watching and spotting iguanas and sloths. After breakfast, you will navigate the Pucate River to observe various wildlife. The afternoon includes a jungle walk to a lake and learning about medicinal plants. You will have dinner under the stars and a night canoe tour before returning to camp.

Day 3

The final day involves sailing down the Yarapa River to look for otters, followed by breakfast and lunch at the camping area, where you will learn survival techniques. A jungle hike will lead to free time for swimming in the river. Afterward, you will return to Nauta and then to Iquitos, expected arrival at 6 pm.

4-Day Tour

Days 1, 2, and 3

The four-day tour follows a similar itinerary for the first three days as the three-day option.

Day 4

On the fourth day, you will wake early to watch birds in the reserve, have lunch, and enjoy free time along the Pucate River. You will then sail to Nauta and return to your hotel in Iquitos by 6 pm. Alternatively, airport drop-off is available three hours before your flight.

Accommodation

The tour includes two or three nights in camps within the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, featuring tents or tambos located by the rivers and lagoons. Complete camping equipment is provided.

Pickup

Pickup can be arranged from your hotel or the airport in Iquitos, provided your landing time is before 12 pm. You will be contacted post-reservation to finalize pickup details.
