Pacaya Samiria 3 or 4-Day Tour

3-Day Tour

Day 1

Upon pickup from the airport or hotel in Iquitos, we will drive to the port of Nauta and board a speedboat to travel down the Marañon River, where we may see pink dolphins. A traditional lunch will be served. The trip ends at our campsite in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. After tent setup, we will explore the Huaylla Lagoon and dine in nature, followed by a nocturnal trekking route to observe local wildlife.

Day 2

We will rise early to watch the sunrise and spot iguanas and sloths. Breakfast will be at camp before we navigate the Pucate River to view various species such as monkeys and macaws, followed by lunch in the jungle. In the afternoon, we will walk to a lake and learn about medicinal plants. After dinner under the stars, we will take a night canoe tour and return to camp.

Day 3

On the final day, we will sail down the Yarapa River to see otters. After breakfast and lunch, we will learn survival techniques and embark on a jungle hike. You will have free time to swim before returning to Nauta and Iquitos, arriving around 6 pm.

4-Day Tour

Days 1, 2, and 3

The 4-day tour includes a similar itinerary for the first three days as the 3-day option.

Day 4

On the fourth day, we will wake early to watch birds in the reserve. After lunch, free time will be available to explore the Pucate River. We will then sail to Nauta and return by road to your hotel in Iquitos, arriving at 6 pm. We can also take you to the airport three hours before your flight departs.

Accommodation

The tour includes two or three nights in camps in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, with accommodation in tents or tambos. We provide complete camping equipment including mats, sleeping bags, folding tables, chairs, and a first aid kit.

Pickup

Pickup is available at your hotel or the airport in Iquitos, provided you land before 12 pm. We will contact you after your reservation to arrange the pickup time.
