Pacaya Samiria Day Trip
We will pick you up at your hotel in downtown Iquitos or at the airport at the designated time, then travel to Nauta, a town in Loreto province. The journey lasts 1.5 hours and takes us to the Marañon and Ucayali Rivers. There, life jackets will be provided before boarding a boat for a cruise on the tributary.
During the cruise, you may see sloths in the rainforest canopy and colourful birds in the Amazon sky. If fortunate, you might also spot grey and pink dolphins in the waters.
A lunch featuring a typical regional meal called 'Juane' will be served, consisting of chicken, egg, olive, and specially prepared rice wrapped in a bijao leaf.
We will then enter Pacaya Samiria National Park, the fourth largest protected area in South America, covering over 20,000 km (12,400 miles) and home to approximately 208 villages of 56 indigenous communities that depend on the resources of the reserve.
The rainy seasons bring lizards, taricayas, and charapas, while warmer months allow for sightings of birds, monkeys, and amphibians.
After 9 hours, we will return to your hotel.
