4-Day Journey in South Amazonia with Birdwatching

Day 1



Your adventure begins at 9:15 am when we will collect you from your hotel in Iquitos in a comfortable minibus. We will then proceed to the city port, where a boat awaits to transport us through the Amazon River to our lodge.



Upon arrival, we will settle into our cabins and enjoy a delightful meal. In the afternoon, we'll embark on a nature walk to identify various plant species that attract birds. The day concludes with a leisurely dinner, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the vibrant natural surroundings.

Day 2



Awakening before sunrise, we will set out to observe an extraordinary bird: the Crax Globulosa, an endangered species recognizable by its striking black feathers and orange, reddish beak.



Following this, we will return to camp for lunch before enjoying a boat expedition on the Yanayacu River. Later, we will witness the picturesque sunset over a serene lagoon. Dinner will be served, followed by an exciting night trek into the jungle to discover nocturnal bird species.

Day 3



After a hearty breakfast, we will embark on a unique journey, conditions permitting. We will delve into the southern Peruvian Amazon to observe monkeys, vibrant butterflies, various insects, and an array of birds. Be vigilant, as you may also spot an anaconda in the area!



After enjoying lunch, our exploration continues at the Corrientillo lagoon where we will admire even more tropical bird species. As night falls, another remarkable walking tour awaits us.

Day 4



In the early hours, we will depart from the camp to navigate towards the Amazon islands, home to many endemic birds. Breakfast will be served onboard as we keep a lookout for the high jungle species, where the remarkable pink dolphin and the Victoria Regia plant thrive!



After lunch, we will begin our return towards Iquitos, with an expected arrival time around 4 pm.

Accommodation Details



This experience includes 3 nights of full board accommodation in a double room at Muyuna Amazon Lodge. The lodge features cabins equipped with private bathrooms and terraces outfitted with hammocks, all overlooking the river.

Flight Arrangement Flexibility



If your flight does not align with our schedule, we can adjust pickup times for a late arrival, subject to an additional fee. It is recommended to plan travel during daylight hours to enjoy the river scenery, with a maximum departure cutoff at 3 pm.
