South Amazonia 4-day Trip with Bird Spotting

Day 1

At 9:15 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Iquitos in a minibus before heading to the port. After taking a boat to the lodge, we will settle into our cabins and enjoy a meal. A walk will follow to identify plant species that attract birds, leading to dinner amidst the sounds of nature.

Day 2

We'll wake up before dawn to seek the Crax Globulosa, an endangered bird. After lunch at camp, we will take a boat ride on the Yanayacu River, watch the sunset over a lagoon, and conclude the day by exploring the jungle for night birds.

Day 3

After breakfast, conditions permitting, we'll venture into the southern Peruvian Amazon to observe wildlife. Following lunch, we will continue to the Corrientillo lagoon to see more tropical birds. Another night walk will conclude our day.

Day 4

In the early morning, we will sail to the Amazon islands to observe endemic birds while having breakfast onboard. After lunch, we will return to Iquitos, arriving around 4 pm.

Accommodation

This tour includes 3 nights full board accommodation in a double room at Muyuna Amazon Lodge, featuring private bathrooms and a terrace with hammocks facing the river.

Flight schedule

If your flight schedule does not align with the indicated times, we can adapt the schedule for late pickups, subject to a supplement. It is advised to travel with sunlight to see the river, with a maximum departure time of 3 pm.
