Yanayacu River 6-day Trip
Day 1
Pick up from your hotel in Iquitos at 9:15 am for transfer to the city port and then a boat trip to the campsite. Enjoy a buffet lunch followed by a nature walk. Look for the pygmy marmoset and a sunset at a lagoon. Dinner is followed by a night boat tour to observe alligators.
Day 2
After breakfast, visit the Sapote lagoon and the Moena lagoon to see birds, sloths, and monkeys. Post-lunch, those interested can fish for piranhas. Afterwards, observe the hoatzin bird. Dinner will lead to a search for tarantulas and frogs.
Day 3
Discover the pink dolphin of the Amazon and observe iguanas and the Victoria Regia plant. After lunch, enjoy a boat trip to Juanachi Lagoon to watch local birds and take a night tour after dinner.
Day 4
After breakfast, those interested can camp in a remote area of the rainforest, enjoying a picnic lunch and an opportunity to catch fish for dinner.
Day 5
Breakfast in the jungle, return to the base camp for lunch, then depart to San Juan de Yanayacu to learn about local life. Return for a snack and a night walk to find giant frogs.
Day 6
The final day involves a visit to the Sapote Lagoon followed by Moena Lagoon to see sloths. Enjoy a buffet lunch prior to the return to Iquitos around 4 pm.
Accommodation
Includes 4 nights of full board accommodation in a double room at Muyuna Amazon Lodge and one night at the campsite. Option to spend all 5 nights at the lodge is available. Camping cabins have private bathrooms and terraces with hammocks.
Flight Times
Flight schedules can be adjusted for late pick-up at an additional cost. Ideal departure time is before 3 pm.
