Yanayacu River 6-day Trip

Day 1

Pickup at your hotel in Iquitos at 9:15 am for transfer to the city port and a boat trip to the camp. Enjoy a buffet lunch, followed by a walk to explore the local nature, including a chance to see the pygmy marmoset. Conclude the day with a dinner and a night boat trip to search for alligators.

Day 2

After breakfast, visit Sapote lagoon and Moena lagoon to see birds, sloths, and monkeys. After lunch, you can go fishing for piranhas in the nearby lagoons. Later, observe the hoatzin and spend the evening looking for tarantulas and frogs.

Day 3

Discover the pink dolphin of the Amazon and iguanas. After lunch, we will take a boat trip to Juanachi Lagoon for birdwatching, followed by a night tour.

Day 4

Enjoy breakfast and optionally camp in a remote area of the rainforest with a picnic lunch. You can choose to catch fish for dinner.

Day 5

Return to base camp for a picnic breakfast, then visit San Juan de Yanayacu to learn about life along the Amazon riverbank. A night walk will follow.

Day 6

Visit the Sapote Lagoon to enjoy the local birdlife, followed by a trip to Moena Lagoon to see sloths. The trip concludes with a buffet lunch before returning to Iquitos, arriving around 4 pm.

Accommodation

Includes 4 nights full board accommodation in a double room at Muyuna Amazon Lodge and one night at the campsite. Option to spend all nights at the lodge is available. Camping cabins have private bathrooms and a terrace with hammocks.

Flight Times

If your flight time does not match the indicated timetable, we can adjust it for a late pickup with an additional fee. Maximum departure time is 3 pm.
