On this free tour of Isla Cristina, we'll explore the unique history of the pearl of Andalusia, a natural paradise founded by Catalan and Valencian sailors.
Isla Cristina Free Tour
At the specified time, we will meet at the Paseo de las Palmeras, near the bench dedicated to reading. The free tour of Isla Cristina will begin with a discussion on the city's founding in 1755, which occurred after an earthquake.
Next, we will proceed to the North Roundabout to address the role of women on the island. Following this, we will visit the fishing port, the second most significant in Spain. This will include insights on the history of British Pirates in the area.
We will also stop at the Carnaval Museum, the major festival of Isla Cristina. Our next location will be the Paseo de las Flores, where we will view the old Church, Town Hall, and Blas Infante's House, known as the Father of Andalusianism.
From there, we will head to Nuestra Señora de los Dolores Church for views from its bell tower. The tour will conclude with a stroll through the modern part of the city, featuring the Monument to the Sailor, the Horacio Noguera Theatre, and the Central Park.
After a total of 2 hours, we will return to the starting point.
