Description
After picking you up from your accommodation, we will start our route visiting Ahu Akivi, Puna Pau, and Ana Te Pahu, which are among the top attractions on the island.
Our journey begins at the Ana Te Pahu caves, approximately 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) long, which served as a refuge for the ancient inhabitants of Rapa Nui. We will explore fascinating cave paintings and protected areas while learning about the island's history.
Next, we will visit Ahu Akivi, a sacred site featuring 7 Moai sculptures. These statues are said to honor the explorers who discovered Rapa Nui and departed from the island of Hiva.
We will then proceed to Puna Pau, a small crater known for the creation of pukaos, the headdresses made from volcanic rock that can be found on some Moais. We will discuss the techniques used to create these unique artifacts.
The tour lasts between 3 to 5 hours, after which we will return you to your hotel.
