Step into the ancient past of Easter Island with this trip to the ceremonial village of Orongo and the Rano Kaa volcano. Prepare to be astounded!

Orongo and Rano Kau Volcano Trip

At the indicated time, we'll collect you from your hotel and start a journey back to ancient times. The first stop is at Vinapu, an archaeological site with intricately carved stones and impressive Ahu stone platforms similar to Inca constructions in Cuzco.

Next, we'll proceed to the Rano Kau volcano. We'll walk along the eroded sides of the volcano to reach the summit, where you can view one of the three freshwater lakes of Easter Island. From this vantage point, you'll appreciate the landscape and the three islets associated with the Rapa Nui people’s annual religious ceremony.

Near the Rano Kau volcano, you will find the ruins of the ceremonial town of Orongo. This site features oval-shaped stone statues and numerous petroglyphs depicting the “birdmen”, who participated in an annual race to retrieve the first egg of the season.

By the end of the tour, you will have explored the legends and traditions of ancient Easter Island inhabitants. The excursion lasts approximately 3 hours, culminating with your return to the hotel.
