This excursion to Ana Kakenga and Ahu Akivi is an opportunity to see world-famous Moai sculptures and one of the most visited caves of Easter Island.

Description

At the indicated time, we will meet you at your hotel on Easter Island. We will begin our trip to Ana Kakenga and Ahu Akivi, which include moai sculptures and a cave.

The first stop will be at Ana Kakenga, known as the 'Cave of Two Windows'. This cave features a narrow entrance and served as a night shelter for the ancestors of Rapa Nui.

Inside the Ana Kakenga Cave, we will view the Pacific Ocean from two different points. We will also discuss how this location provided protection from threats and share insights into the history of the island's ancient inhabitants.

Next, we will visit Ahu Akivi, a site with the seven sculptures of the explorers who discovered Rapa Nui. We will discuss the legend surrounding these sculptures and their relevance to the first settlers of Easter Island.

Close to Ahu Akivi is Puna Pau, where we will take time to unwind before concluding the tour. Here, we will learn about the headdresses made for the moai sculptures.

After 3-5 hours of exploration, we will return to your hotel on Easter Island.
