Constructed in 1960, the modern-day capital of Pakistan houses significant architectural treasures. Discover them through our guided tour of Islamabad in English.
Islamabad Private Tour
After hotel pickup, our English language tour of Islamabad begins at one of the city's iconic monuments, the Faisal Mosque, one of the largest Islamic temples worldwide. During the visit, we will learn about its construction origins, typical of many buildings from the 1960s.
Adjacent to the mosque, at the foot of the Margalla hills, we will view the mausoleum of General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq. To appreciate both the hills and the elegant architecture, we will visit the Daman e Kok viewpoint. This location offers panoramic views of the city's grid-like urban network, Lake Rawal, and the skyscrapers of the Blue Area.
Next, we proceed to Pir Sohawa, situated 5000 feet above sea level in the Margalla hills. This tourist resort provides several viewpoints to enhance our understanding of the history of modern Pakistan and the establishment of a new megalopolis in the mid-20th century.
In Pir Sohawa, we will pause at the Monal Restaurant for lunch (at your own expense). Opened in 2006, it offers remarkable views of the surrounding urban and natural landscapes, making it an ideal spot to sample local cuisine.
After lunch, we will return you to your hotel in Islamabad.
