Private Tour of Ispica

We'll meet in front of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Ispica at the designated time to begin our exploration of this charming town in Ragusa. Our journey starts with a visit to the Basilica, an 18th-century architectural masterpiece showcasing Baroque and Rococo styles, with exquisite statues, stucco work, and 26 frescoes by painter Sozzi.

Inside, we'll see the statue of the Most Holy Christ Flagellated at the Column, significant for Holy Thursday processions during Easter. The church, designated as a National Monument in 1908, features a loggia designed by architect Sinatra, inspired by St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

As we walk through the narrow streets of the historic center, rebuilt after a devastating earthquake in 1693, we'll admire the Palazzo Bruno di Belmonte, now housing the town hall.

After a two-hour guided tour, we conclude in front of the Basilica of the Santissima Annunziata, known for its splendid Baroque elements.
