Istanbul Mosque Tour
We will meet at the German Fountain in Sultanahmet at the scheduled time to commence our tour of the mosques of Istanbul.
Our first destination is Hagia Sophia, constructed in the 6th century AD by Emperor Justinian I. This structure has served as an Orthodox cathedral, a Catholic church, and a mosque. After an exterior explanation by your guide, you will have the opportunity to explore the interior with an audio guide.
Next, we will visit the Blue Mosque, also known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, recognized for its stunning tile work and geometric patterns.
The tour concludes at the Suleymaniye Mosque, which has held the title of the largest mosque in Istanbul for over 450 years. This mosque is notable for its architect, Mimar Sinan, who designed it during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent.
After a 4-hour exploration of Istanbul's mosques, we will conclude the tour at the meeting point.
