On this tour to the Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle, you'll discover two of Slovenia's most remarkable sites. Legends, rock formations, and unique wildlife await you.
Postojna Cave + Predjama Castle Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Izola at 9 am and drive Northeast past the Slovenian border to reach the Postojna Cave. After approximately one hour, we'll arrive and venture inside this karst cave. We'll admire various rock formations, including stalagmites that are 5 meters long.
Continuing our exploration, we'll travel through the cave on a small train, accessing areas not reachable on foot, where we'll see Murano glass chandeliers and a ballroom. One highlight of this visit is the olms, also known as the 'dragon's offspring'.
Our next stop after Postojna is Predjama Castle, a unique medieval fortress located on a cliff. We'll explore this castle filled with legends, including the story of Erasmus of Predjama, known as the Slovenian Robin Hood.
After the castle visit, we'll return to Izola and drop you off at your hotel around 2 pm, concluding the tour.
