Postojna Cave + Predjama Castle Experience

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Izola at 9 am. We will head northeast beyond the Slovenian border towards the iconic Postojna Cave. Recognized as one of the most stunning caves globally, the anticipation builds as we discover its beauty firsthand.

After approximately one hour of travel, we will arrive at Postojna and enter this captivating karst cave. Marvel at the diverse rock formations that have formed over centuries; among them, you'll encounter impressive stalagmites measuring up to 5 meters in height!

To enhance your visit, we will board a small train that will navigate through parts of the cave not reachable on foot, revealing the magnificent Murano glass chandeliers and a stunning ballroom. A notable highlight of this exploration is the presence of olms, affectionately dubbed the 'dragon's offspring'.

Our adventure continues with a trip to Predjama Castle, a stunning medieval fortress dramatically situated on a cliff. Here, you will delve into the castle's rich tapestry of legends, including the fascinating story of Erasmus of Predjama, often likened to the Slovenian Robin Hood.

After wandering through the castle's intriguing rooms, we will return to Izola, where you will be dropped off at your hotel around 2 pm, concluding this memorable excursion.
