Following your pick-up from a hotel in Puebla, we will proceed to the Izta-Popo Zoquiapan National Park. Along the way, we’ll traverse the well-known Paso de Cortés until we arrive at the La Joyita parking area, marking the start of our intriguing hiking journey.

This trek will take us along the renowned Ruta de los Portillos, a 4-kilometer path that showcases glacial landscapes interspersed with completely desolate areas. Throughout the hike, captivating views of the park's two majestic volcanoes, Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl, will unfold, as you learn about their legends and the lore of Tláloc’s servants.

We will pause along the route to savor a delightful quesadilla and a warm beverage. After this refreshing break, our exploration will continue, where we may encounter local fauna, including coyotes, badgers, lizards, and even deer nestled within the conifer forests. For enthusiasts of mycology, be alert for the myriad of fungi species present in the park, offering a truly distinctive adventure!

After around 4 hours of hiking and exploration, we will return to the main parking lot before heading back to your hotel in Puebla, expected to arrive by approximately 5 PM.
