Arab Baths and Villardompardo Palace Tour
We'll meet at the Arab Baths Cultural Centre to begin a tour of the Villardompardo Palace, a 16th century Renaissance building that houses the baths.
The guided tour will commence at the Palace, the residence of the First Count of Villardompardo and Viceroy of Peru, Fernando de Torres and Portugal. This building, erected in the 16th century, is situated in the heart of the historic centre of Jaen and has undergone various ownership and functional changes.
We will visit two museums located within it, starting with the Museum of Popular Arts and Customs, reflecting the traditional crafts of the city. Next, we will explore the Naïf Art Museum, which is unique in Spain.
The tour will continue into the largest Arab Baths in Europe, covering 450 square meters, dating back to 1002. These baths illustrate the washing ritual practiced by the Muslim population. The tour includes a view of the four rooms of these traditional Arab baths.
At the end of the approximately one and a half hour guided tour, we will conclude on the Terrace-Viewpoint, offering views of the city.
