Visit the best-preserved Arab baths in Europe with this Arab Baths and Villardompardo Palace Tour. Discover the washing ritual used during the Andalusian period.

Arab Baths and Villardompardo Palace Tour

We'll meet at the Arab Baths Cultural Centre to begin a tour of the Villardompardo Palace, a 16th-century Renaissance building that houses the baths.

The guided tour will start at the Palace, the residence of the First Count of Villardompardo and Viceroy of Peru, Fernando de Torres and Portugal. Built in the 16th century in the heart of the historic centre of Jaen, it has undergone various ownerships and functions.

The tour includes visits to two museums located within the Palace: the Museum of Popular Arts and Customs, showcasing lost crafts of the city, and the Naïf Art Museum, notable as a unique institution in Spain.

Next, we'll explore the largest Arab Baths in Europe, spanning 450 square meters and dating back to 1002, illustrating the washing rituals of the Muslim population. The guided tour includes the four rooms of these traditional baths.

After approximately an hour and a half, we will conclude our guided tour at the Terrace-Viewpoint, offering views of the city.
