Arab Baths and Villardompardo Palace Tour
We'll meet at the Arab Baths Cultural Centre to begin a tour of the Villardompardo Palace, a 16th-century Renaissance building located above the Baths.
The guided tour will start at the Palace, the residence of Fernando de Torres y Portugal, the First Count of Villardompardo and Viceroy of Peru. Built in the 16th century in the heart of the historic centre of Jaen, it has served various owners and functions.
We will visit the two museums housed within: the Museum of Popular Arts and Customs, showcasing lost crafts of the city's history, and the Naïf Art Museum, which is unique in Spain.
Next, we will explore the largest Arab Baths in Europe, covering 450 square meters and dating back to 1002. These baths demonstrate the washing rituals practiced by the Muslim population. The tour includes visits to the four traditional rooms of the baths.
After approximately an hour and a half, we will conclude our guided tour at the Terrace-Viewpoint, offering panoramic views of the city.
