On this guided tour of Jakarta, we'll explore key sites in the Indonesian capital, including Old Batavia, featuring museums, mosques, cathedrals, and neighborhoods.

Tour Details

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel for our full tour of Jakarta.

We will start at the National Museum for a guided tour of its exhibitions, showcasing the country’s history and artifacts. The museum, near Merdeka Square, is known as the 'Elephant Building'.

Next, we’ll visit the Great Istiqlal Mosque, the largest in Southeast Asia and ninth worldwide, located near the Jakarta Cathedral.

After these visits, we will stop for photos at the National Museum of Indonesia, followed by a traditional lunch lasting 30 to 45 minutes.

We will then head to Chinatown (Glodok) to explore its temples and market.

For adventure, we’ll ride a tuk-tuk through Old Batavia, known as the "Jewel of Asia" and "Queen of the Orient", a site under 2 kilometers long. We’ll learn about its history as a trading center for Southeast Asia.

In Batavia, we'll visit a traditional puppet studio to understand the role of shadow puppets in culture. Finally, we’ll arrive at the old Port of Jakarta, reflecting its commercial importance.

After this 5 to 6-hour tour, we’ll return to the starting point.

Closing Times

Museums in Jakarta close on Mondays. The Great Istiqlal Mosque is closed on Fridays.
