Buraco das Araras Hiking Tour
At the agreed time, we will meet at the BR-267 road, at the connection point with the natural site of Buraco das Araras. This hike leads to a 127-meter-deep sinkhole, recognized as the largest in Latin America. During the hike, we will provide explanations about the formation of this nature reserve while enjoying the sandstone landscape.
Throughout the hike, we will stop at various viewpoints to observe the geological features and numerous bird species in the area. The site is informally known as Macaw Hole, and visitors may witness these birds up close, renowned for their striking red plumage.
Accompanied by a guide, participants will learn about the ecology of Buraco das Araras, including its flora and fauna. Notably, there may be opportunities to spot caimans swimming in the lagoon at the bottom of the cliff.
