Buraco das Araras Hiking Tour
At the agreed time, we'll meet at the BR-267 road, specifically in the area that connects this road with the natural site of Buraco das Araras. Here, we'll begin a hike to the 127-meter-deep (416 feet) sinkhole, the largest in Latin America. The guide will explain the formation of this nature reserve while we admire the sandstone landscape.
During the hike, we will make several stops at viewpoints to observe the geological formations and the many species of birds that inhabit the area. This location is known as Macaw Hole due to the close sightings of the macaws. We'll learn about the secrets of the Buraco das Araras and its flora and fauna, with opportunities to see caimans swimming in the lagoon at the bottom of the cliff.
After an hour's walk through the Buraco das Araras, we'll end the visit at the starting point.
