Hundreds of birds and one of the largest sinkholes in America are the focus of this hiking route through the Buraco das Araras, offering a unique natural landscape with macaws and caimans.
Buraco das Araras Hiking Tour
At the agreed time, we will meet at the BR-267 road, specifically at the location where this road connects with Buraco das Araras. We will begin our hike to the 127-meter-deep sinkhole, the largest in Latin America, while explaining its formation and admiring the sandstone landscape.
During the hike, we will make several stops at various viewpoints to observe both the geological formations and the numerous bird species inhabiting the area, particularly macaws. The name "Macaw Hole" reflects this avian presence, and we will likely see them close by.
Accompanied by our guide, we will learn about the Buraco das Araras' secrets and the flora and fauna within the sinkhole. Observers may spot caimans swimming in the lagoon at the bottom of the cliff.
After an hour of hiking, we will conclude the visit at the starting point.
