Buraco das Araras Hiking Tour

Hundreds of birds and one of the largest sinkholes in America are the focus of this hiking route through the Buraco das Araras, where we will encounter macaws and caimans.

We will meet at the BR-267 road, specifically at the area connecting this road with the natural site of Buraco das Araras. The hike will lead us to the 127-meter-deep sinkhole, the largest in Latin America. During the hike, we will explain the formation of this nature reserve while admiring the sandstone landscape.

Throughout the hiking route, we will stop at different viewpoints to observe the geological formations and the many species of birds inhabiting the area, including macaws, known for their striking red plumage. Accompanied by a guide, we will learn about the Buraco das Araras and its flora and fauna, with a chance to see caimans swimming in the lagoon at the bottom of the cliff.

After an hour's walk through the Buraco das Araras, we will conclude the visit at the starting point.
