Join us for a stroll through the port of Xàbia, exploring the history and key sites of this city, from its historical origins to the 20th century.
Description
We will meet at Xàbia Posit to start our tour, which includes visits to the main highlights of Xàbia and its port.
The first stop will be the Xàbia Yacht Club, where we will discuss the history of the port and its role in raisin exports. We will also cover local wines and the concept of "Riu Rau."
Next, we will briefly visit the Fishermen's Guild to examine the local fishing techniques.
We will then pass by the Our Lady of Loreto Parish to appreciate its 20th-century architecture, followed by the Joaquín Sorolla Sculpture, exploring Sorolla's connection to Xàbia and his contributions to Impressionism.
Our following destination will be the Casa del Cable, significant for the first cable link between the Balearic Islands and the Peninsula established in the 19th century. We will then visit Triana Bridge, discussing the origin of its name, known as "Aduanas del Mar."
Concluding at Platja del Primer Muntanyar, we will enjoy a sunset view while discussing notable sites like Cabo de la Nau, Baños de la Reina, and the First Montañar. The tour lasts an hour and a half.
