La Quemada + Jerez Tour

We'll pick you up at 9:45 am at your hotel in Zacatecas and drive to the south of the city.

The first stop will be at the archaeological site of La Quemada: an important pre-Hispanic site dating back to between 300 and 1200 A.D. We'll first visit the museum of this ancient settlement, where we'll learn about the pre-Columbian culture of the interior of Mexico.

We'll continue our tour of the archaeological site with a visit to the votive pyramid of La Quemada, enjoying panoramic views of the Malpaso Valley.

After the site visit, we'll head toward thePueblo Mágico de Jerez. In Jerez, the birthplace of poet Ramón López Velarde, we'll take a guided tour of the historic centre.

Highlights include the Hinojosa Theatre, the sanctuary of La Soledad, and the parish church of the Immaculate Conception. We will also explore the House-Museum of López Velarde and the Rafael Páez garden.

At the end of the walk through the old town, you'll have an hour for lunch. After lunch, we'll return to your hotel in Zacatecas, arriving at 4:45 pm.
