On this tour of the Mount of Olives, we'll uncover the history and key facts about one of the most symbolic places in Jerusalem.

Mount of Olives Walking Tour

At the appointed time, we will meet at the Jaffa Gate. From there, we’ll travel by bus to the Mount of Olives, a notable symbol of Jerusalem and a mystical site in the Holy Land.

We will first stop at the base of the Mount, where we will explore the Jewish cemetery—considered to be one of the oldest cemeteries in the world.

After our visit to the cemetery, we will ascend to the summit of the Mount of Olives to take in the panoramic views of Jerusalem. We will also discuss the importance of this site for Christians. Our journey will then continue around the area, where we will visit the Chapel of the Ascension and the Church of Dominus Flevit.

Next, we will head to the garden of Gethsemane. According to the New Testament, this is where Jesus prayed before his arrest by the Roman authorities of Judea. Afterwards, we will proceed to the tomb of the Virgin Mary, a site of significant historical importance at the foot of the Mount of Olives.

Finally, after a three-hour tour, we will conclude our exploration of the Mount of Olives at the Lions' Gate.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You will meet at Jaffa Gate at the scheduled time. A bus will then take you to the Mount of Olives, where the tour will commence. The duration of the tour is approximately three hours, during which you will visit key historical and religious sites.
