Petra & Wadi Rum 2-Day Tour

Imagine embarking on an unforgettable desert safari while simultaneously visiting one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. This 2-day adventure to Petra and Wadi Rum, starting from either Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, promises an extraordinary experience. Additionally, this journey includes a visit to the city of Aqaba and the opportunity to explore sets from Star Wars.

Itinerary

Day 1: Jerusalem - Aqaba - Wadi Rum

We'll convene at the designated meeting area in either Jerusalem or Tel Aviv at the agreed time. From there, a bus will take us across the border into Jordan, heading to the coastal city of Aqaba. The trip approximately lasts 4 hours.

Upon arrival, you'll join a guided exploration of Aqaba, where you can wander through its quaint streets, discover local mosques, and browse the bustling souks. A highlight of our visit will be the Mamluk Castle, a 16th-century fortress that offers stunning panoramic views, allowing you to capture images of Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia from one vantage point.

Following a break for lunch, we will switch to a four-wheel drive tour of Wadi Rum. Known as the Valley of the Moon, this breathtaking desert served as a backdrop for several Star Wars films. Fans and non-fans alike will be captivated by the dramatic landscapes.

As we traverse the desert, we will encounter the famous Seven Pillars of Wisdom and other remarkable natural formations like the Um Furth arch, traveling through vast terrains where it seems time has halted.

Our day will conclude at the camp where we will staying overnight. As the sun sets over the desert, enjoy a delightful dinner and bask in the tranquility of your surroundings.

Day 2: Wadi Rum - Petra - Jerusalem

Rise and shine! On the second day, we'll have an early breakfast before embarking on our bus trip from Wadi Rum to Petra. If you wish, a small picnic can be arranged for breakfast on the go.

After roughly 2.5 hours of travel, we will arrive at our destination. Are you prepared to discover the "Rose City"? Guided by our expert, we’ll delve into the ancient capital of the Nabataeans, a site boasting over 2,300 years of history and recognized as the premier archaeological site in Jordan.

The tour of Petra will take you to remarkable rock-carved structures, while you learn about the rich history of this World Heritage Site. Our journey will include a walk through the Siq Gorge, exploration of various temples, a visit to the Tomb of the Obelisks, and the opportunity to photograph the famous Petra Treasury and the Nabataean Theatre, along with countless other awe-inspiring constructions.

You’ll be allotted 2 hours of personal time in Petra where you can have lunch before embarking on a 5 to 6-hour drive back to Israel. Expect to arrive at the departure points in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv between 2 am and 3:15 am.

Accommodation

This excursion includes one night of accommodation at the Magic Rum Camp with a half-board service. You can select either a standard double room or a superior option, which offers a unique double room designed like a space tent. All rooms are equipped with private bathrooms and Wi-Fi access. In case of unavailability, an alternate camp of comparable standards will be ensured.
