Shabbat Experience Walking Tour

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Jaffa Gate to explore the significance of Shabbat for the Jews. This holy day begins at sunset on Friday and ends at sunset on Saturday, encompassing practices like Torah reading, rest, and prayer.

First, we will explore the Jewish quarter and the Four Sephardic Synagogues: Eliahu Ha-Nav, Yochanan Ben-Zakai, Istanbul, and Kahal Tsion. Each synagogue will be discussed in detail, focusing on their ornamentation.

Next, we will walk through the Old City of Jerusalem to the Hurva synagogue, which was established by Sephardic Jews from Spain and other European regions. We will learn about the events following the devastating fire caused by the Arabs.

This Shabbat tour includes a visit to the Western Wall, significant for the Jewish people's lament over the destruction of their holy area. Participants will have the opportunity to insert a wish into the wall.

Finally, we will return to the starting point to conclude the tour approximately two hours after departure.
