Begin your tour in the historic Navchokiya district, a picturesque neighbourhood featuring temples, bazaars, and havelis—the typical indigo blue houses that give the city its nickname.

As you walk through the streets, admire the distinct colour of these houses, originally painted blue to indicate the residences of brahmins. Over time, many other residents adopted the blue paint, believed to repel insects and provide heat insulation.

Continue to the Ranisar Lake, an artificial reservoir created over 500 years ago to store water.
