Uros & Taquile Islands Tour

One of the most ancestral tribes of America and incredible landscapes star in this excursion to the islands of the Uros and Taquile. We'll travel from Juliaca, enjoy a boat ride and learn about the history of the people who live in Lake Titicaca.

Uros & Taquile Islands Tour

At 6 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Juliaca and head by minibus to Puno.

After an hour's drive, we'll approach the shores of Lake Titicaca and board a boat to the Uros islands, recognized as cultural heritage of Peru. This floating archipelago is artificial.

Spending an hour and a half on the Uros islands, we will meet the descendants of one of the oldest ethnic groups in Latin America and learn about their traditions and beliefs.

Next, we'll proceed to the island of Taquile, where we will walk for an hour and a half along its trails, enjoying its terraced hills. We will also learn about the textile art recognized as 'Intangible Heritage of Humanity' by Unesco.

A lunch in Taquile will include a starter, a main course, and a soft drink. After lunch, we'll return to the boat.

The excursion concludes at 3:30 pm, returning you to your hotel in Juliaca.

2-Day Tour

The 2-day tour allows for more exploration. The first day includes visiting the Uros Islands, having lunch, learning to fish with locals, enjoying an afternoon free, and staying overnight in a traditional hut with dinner included.

On the second day, after breakfast at 7:30 am, we will visit the island of Taquile to explore its market and customs, followed by lunch. We will return to Juliaca, arriving at 3:50 pm.

Tour ending in Puno

If preferred, the excursion can end in Puno instead of returning to Juliaca. We'll drop you off at any central location or hotel of your choice.
