Uros & Taquile Islands Tour

One of the most ancestral tribes of America and incredible landscapes star in this excursion to the islands of the Uros and Taquile. We'll travel from Juliaca, enjoy a boat ride and learn about the history of the people who live in Lake Titicaca.

Uros & Taquile Islands Tour

At 6 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Juliaca and head by minibus to Puno.

After an hour's drive, we'll approach the shores of Lake Titicaca and board a boat to the islands of the Uros, protected as cultural heritage of Peru. This floating archipelago is actually artificial.

We'll spend an hour and a half visiting these islands built with aquatic plants by the Uros, meet the local population, and discover their traditions and beliefs.

Afterwards, we'll set course for the island of Taquile. We'll walk along its trails for an hour and a half, admiring its hills and terraces for crops. We will also learn about the textile art of this place, declared 'Intangible Heritage of Humanity' by Unesco.

We will have a lunch in Taquile consisting of a starter, a main course, and a soft drink. After lunch, we'll return to the boat.

The excursion will end at 3:30 pm, dropping you off at your hotel in Juliaca.

2-Day Tour

If you want to dedicate more time, this 2-day tour is ideal. On the first day, we'll explore the Uros Islands, have lunch there, learn to fish with the locals, and have the afternoon free, staying in a traditional hut with dinner included.

On the second day, after breakfast at 7:30 am, we'll visit Taquile, see its market, learn about local customs, and return to Juliaca after lunch, arriving at 3:50 pm.
