Humpback Whale Watching in Kailua-Kona
We will meet at the Kuakini Highway Illima Court Shopping Center at the scheduled time to begin the whale-watching experience on Hawaii Island, where various facts about these cetaceans will be shared.
Every year, thousands of humpback whales migrate to Hawaii's shores to nurse and care for their calves. During this activity, participants will board a boat that will sail along the Kailua-Kona coastline to search for these marine mammals.
The tour will cover the significance of humpback whales in the culture and mythology of Hawaii. They hold a sacred character for locals, being considered the guardians of the sea. In Hawaiian, calves are referred to as aumakua, while whales born in these waters are known as kamaaina.
Participants will have 2.5 hours to observe humpback whales as they swim, jump, and produce their songs. There will also be opportunities to see dolphins, manta rays, and sea turtles.
Finally, we will return to the port to conclude the experience.
