Humpback Whale Watching in Kailua-Kona
At the scheduled time, we will gather at the Kuakini Highway Illima Court Shopping Center to commence the whale-watching tour on Hawaii Island. Interesting facts about humpback whales will be shared during this experience.
Each year, thousands of humpback whales migrate to the shores of Hawaii to nurse and care for their calves. Participants will board a boat to navigate along the Kailua-Kona coastline in search of these marine mammals.
We will explore the significance of humpback whales within Hawaiian culture and mythology. They are viewed as the guardians of the sea, and in Hawaiian, calves are referred to as aumakua, while whales born in the island's waters are known as kamaaina.
During the 2.5-hour tour, participants will enjoy the sight of humpback whales as they swim, jump, and sing, and may also spot dolphins, manta rays, and sea turtles before returning to port to conclude the tour.
