Spend a unique evening snorkelling with manta rays off the coast of Hawaii's Big Island: enjoy an unforgettable night swim with these majestic sea creatures.

Night Swim with Manta Rays on Big Island Hawaii

Snorkelling at night enhances the experience. After meeting at Kealakehe Pkwy at the scheduled time and completing safety instructions, you will board a boat heading to a natural habitat for manta rays.

Within five minutes, you will arrive at the location where these marine creatures reside, which can reach up to 23 feet (7 meters) in width. Equipped with your snorkelling goggles and breathing tube, you'll enter the water accompanied by an instructor carrying a light board to illuminate the manta rays in the dark. The light attracts plankton, food for the rays.

You will spend about 30 to 40 minutes swimming with the manta rays before returning to the boat. This two-hour activity concludes at the original meeting point.

What if we don't see any manta rays?

While sightings are likely, manta rays are unpredictable. Sea currents, wind, and weather can affect visibility. If no manta rays are observed, you may reschedule for the next available day at no cost (subject to availability).
