Night Swim with Manta Rays on Big Island Hawaii

Snorkelling at night offers a distinctive experience. After meeting at Kealakehe Pkwy and receiving safety instructions, participants will board a boat to a location known for manta ray sightings. The boat ride lasts approximately five minutes to the natural habitat of manta rays, which can grow up to 23 feet (7 meters) wide. Equipped with snorkelling goggles and breathing tubes, participants will enter the water with an instructor carrying a light board to enhance visibility. The light attracts plankton, a food source for the manta rays.

Participants will spend about 30 to 40 minutes swimming with the manta rays before returning to the boat and then to the meeting point, completing this two-hour activity.

What if we don't see any manta rays?

While sightings of manta rays are likely, they can be unpredictable. Should there be no manta rays observed during your tour, you will have the option to re-do the activity on the next scheduled day at no additional cost (subject to availability).
