Asian elephants, hundreds of birds, and various other species await you at Kaudulla National Park. Discover its wildlife with the photographic safari from Kandy.

Kaudulla National Park Safari

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Kandy and take a 2.5-hour journey by minibus to Kaudulla National Park. At the entrance, we'll board a jeep to start the Kaudulla safari. During the three-hour drive, we'll explore the reserve's ecological significance. The area is an IBA (Important Bird and Biodiversity Area), home to 160 bird species, 24 mammal species, 25 reptile species, and 26 fish species. You will encounter birds such as cranes, peacocks, and pelicans, enhancing your bird identification skills.

We'll have a stop at a picnic area, so remember to pack lunch. In the afternoon, the safari will continue through regions of Kaudulla where Asian elephants reside. Although endangered, Sri Lanka has one of the few significant herds of this species.

During the safari, we'll also attempt to spot other animals such as buffalos and Ceylon deer. The park has a substantial population of Asian reptiles, with many native to Sri Lanka and parts of India.

The safari will conclude at the park entrance, where we will return by minibus to your hotel in Kandy, arriving 10 hours after departure.
