Minneriya National Park Safari

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Kandy for a 2.5-hour minibus drive toMinneriya National Park. At the entrance, we'll board a jeep to begin theMinneriya photograph safariaround the wetlands of this protected natural area, which is home to various species includingcrocodiles, monkeys,andslow loris.

After a picnic stop, we'll continue the safari to observe the famousMinneriya elephants, which can weigh up to five tonnes. These mammals are typically found insmall herdsat various locations in the national park.

In addition to the elephants, we will also look for variousspecies of Asian birdssuch as pelicans, herons, and ibises, which inhabit the park's lakes alongsideCeylon buffalos.Despite their intimidating size, these buffalos are usually very peaceful.

After completing the safari, we'll return to the minibus and head back to our hotels in Kandy, arriving 8.5 hours later.
