Activity Details
Pickup is available from your hotel in Kandy, followed by a 2.5-hour minibus journey to Kaudulla National Park, known for its ecological importance.
Upon arrival, you will transfer to a jeep for the Kaudulla safari. The three-hour drive will explore the park's biodiversity, identified as an IBA (Important Bird and Biodiversity Area), home to 160 bird species, 24 mammal species, 25 reptile species, and 26 fish species. Notable sightings include cranes, peacocks, and pelicans.
A picnic area stop is included, so be sure to pack lunch. The afternoon continues with safari routes through zones populated with Asian elephants, a species at risk of extinction. Sri Lanka hosts a notable population of these mammals.
Additionally, there will be opportunities to observe buffalos and Ceylon deer, along with a large variety of Asian reptiles, many of which are unique to Sri Lanka and parts of India.
The safari concludes at the park entrance, with a return minibus trip to your hotel in Kandy, taking approximately 10 hours in total.
