Asian elephants, hundreds of birds and many other species await you at Kaudulla National Park. Discover its wildlife with this private photographic safari from Kandy.

Activity Details

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Kandy and take a 2.5-hour journey by minibus to arrive at Kaudulla National Park, one of Sri Lanka's natural gems.

At the entrance, we'll get on a jeep to start the Kaudulla safari. During the three-hour drive, we'll discover the reserve's ecological value. It's an IBA (Important Bird and Biodiversity Area), containing 160 species of birds, 24 species of mammals, 25 species of reptiles, and 26 species of fish. You'll see birds such as cranes, peacocks, and pelicans.

We'll stop at a picnic area, so don't forget to pack lunch! In the afternoon, the safari will continue through areas of Kaudulla with a high number of Asian elephants. Although this species is endangered, Sri Lanka maintains a significant herd.

During the safari, we'll also try to spot buffalos and Ceylon deer. The park hosts many Asian reptiles, with several native to Sri Lanka and some areas of India.

We'll finish the safari at the park entrance and take the minibus back to your hotel in Kandy, arriving 10 hours after departure.
