Activity Details
Pick-up from your hotel in Kandy will begin a 2.5-hour journey by minibus to Kaudulla National Park, a natural gem of Sri Lanka.
At the entrance, you'll board a jeep for the Kaudulla safari. This three-hour experience will highlight the park's ecological importance, designated as an IBA (Important Bird and Biodiversity Area). The park hosts 160 species of birds, 24 species of mammals, 25 species of reptiles, and 26 species of fish. You'll observe various birds including cranes, peacocks, and pelicans, enhancing your bird identification skills.
A picnic area will provide an opportunity for lunch; remember to bring food! The afternoon safari will focus on areas with a high concentration of Asian elephants, a species facing extinction, yet preserved in Sri Lanka.
Additionally, the safari may include sightings of buffalos and Ceylon deer, as well as a variety of native Asian reptiles found in Sri Lanka and parts of India.
The safari concludes at the park entrance, followed by the return minibus trip to your hotel in Kandy, with an estimated duration of 10 hours.
