Activity Details

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Kandy to travel 2.5 hours by minibus to Minneriya National Park.

At the entrance, we'll board a jeep to start the Minneriya photograph safari around the wetlands of this protected area. This region is ecologically significant and hosts diverse species from crocodiles to monkeys and slow loris.

After a picnic stop, we'll continue the safari, focusing on the famous Minneriya elephants, which can weigh up to five tonnes and are often seen in small herds throughout the park.

During the safari, we'll also look for various species of Asian birds including pelicans, herons, and ibises, often seen around the park's lakes alongside Ceylon buffalos. Despite their intimidating appearance, they are generally peaceful.

To conclude the safari, we'll return to the minibus and head back to our hotels in Kandy, arriving 8.5 hours later.
