This must-see experience begins with a pickup from your hotel in Kandy, leading you on a scenic 2.5-hour minibus journey to one of Sri Lanka's most beautiful natural spaces: Minneriya National Park.

Activity Details

Upon arrival at the national park, we will board a jeep to embark on the Minneriya photograph safari, exploring the wetlands of this protected area. This region boasts significant ecological value and is home to a diverse range of species, from crocodiles to monkeys and slow loris.

We will make a picnic stop during our safari before continuing to admire the renowned Minneriya elephants. These magnificent mammals can weigh up to five tonnes and are often seen in small herds throughout different areas of the national park.

In addition to the elephants, we will keep an eye out for various species of Asian birds flying over the park. Some of the most striking birds include pelicans, herons, and ibises, which can be observed sharing the park’s lakes and waterholes with the peaceful Ceylon buffalos.

To conclude our safari around Minneriya, we will return to the minibus and head back to our hotels in Kandy, arriving approximately 8.5 hours after our departure.
