Bungamati & Khokana Day Trip

On the morning of your activity, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu at your chosen time and head out of the city into the rural villages located to the south of the Nepalese capital.

The first stop will be Bungamati, in the heart of the Lalitpur Valley. The majority of the population are Newar people, who have maintained their ancient culture, religion, and language. You'll discover the customs and traditions of Newar Bungamati while exploring the village's monuments, with a highlight being the Temple of Machhindranath.

After Bungamati, you'll visit the nearby settlement of Khokana, continuing to learn about the origins and history of the Newar civilization. Your guide will explain the evolution of the culture, and you'll see significant religious buildings, including Shree Rudrayani, a 500-year-old temple known for its three-storeyed architecture and intricate latticework.

At the end of your tour, you'll be taken back to Kathmandu and dropped off at your hotel.
