Bungamati & Khokana Day Trip

On the morning of your activity, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu at your chosen time and head out of the city centre into the rural villages located to the south of Nepal's capital.

Your first stop will be in Bungamati, nestled in the heart of the Lalitpur Valley. The majority of the population are Newar people, a historic community that has maintained their ancient culture, religion, and language. During your tour, you will explore the customs and traditions of Newar Bungamati and appreciate architectural highlights, including the Temple of Machhindranath.

After Bungamati, you'll proceed to the nearby settlement of Khokana to learn about the origins and history of the Newar civilization. Your guide will share insights on the culture's evolution while you visit key religious buildings, including the 500-year-old Shree Rudrayani temple, known for its distinctive three-storey architecture and intricate latticework.

At the end of your tour, you'll return to Kathmandu and be dropped off at your hotel.
