Bungamati & Khokana Day Trip

On the morning of your activity, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu at your chosen time and head out of the city into the rural villages located to the south of Kathmandu.

Your first stop will be in Bungamati, located in the heart of the Lalitpur Valley. This town is primarily inhabited by Newar people, who have preserved their ancient culture, religion, and language over the centuries in the Kathmandu Valley. During the tour, you'll learn about the customs of Newar Bungamati while exploring local monuments and landmarks. A key highlight is the Temple of Machhindranath, known for its impressive domes.

Following Bungamati, you'll visit Khokana, where you'll continue to explore the origins and history of the Newar civilization. Your guide will explain the cultural evolution as you visit significant religious sites, including Shree Rudrayani, a 500-year-old temple recognized for its distinct three-storeyed architecture and intricate latticework.

At the end of your tour, you'll return to Kathmandu and be dropped off at your hotel.
