Bungamati & Khokana Day Trip

On the morning of your activity, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu at your chosen time and head to the rural villages south of the capital.

The first stop will be in Bungamati, located in the heart of the Lalitpur Valley. The majority of the population consists of Newar people, who have maintained their ancient culture, religion, and language. Throughout your tour, you'll discover the customs and traditions of Newar Bungamati while exploring its monuments. An architectural highlight is the Temple of Machhindranath, known for its striking pearlescent domes.

Next, you'll visit the nearby settlement of Khokana, where you will learn about the history of the Newar civilization. Your guide will explain the cultural evolution as you visit important religious buildings, including Shree Rudrayani, a 500-year-old temple recognized for its unique three-storey architecture and intricate latticework.

At the end of your tour, you'll be taken back to Kathmandu and dropped off at your hotel.
