Bungamati & Khokana Day Trip

On the morning of your activity, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu at your chosen time and head out of the city center into the rural villages located to the south of the Nepalese capital.

Your first stop will be in the tiny town of Bungamati, nestled in the heart of the Lalitpur Valley. The majority of the population are Newar people, a historic community that has maintained their ancient culture, religion, and language throughout the centuries. You'll discover the customs and traditions of Newar Bungamati while exploring the monument known as the Temple of Machhindranath, which is a symbol of this area of Nepal.

After Bungamati, you'll visit the nearby settlement of Khokana, where you will learn about the origins and history of the Newar civilization. Your guide will explain the cultural evolution while you visit significant religious buildings, including Shree Rudrayani, a 500-year-old temple known for its three-storey architecture and intricate latticework.

At the end of your tour, you'll be taken back to Kathmandu and dropped off at your hotel.
