Bungamati & Khokana Day Trip

On the morning of your activity, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu at your chosen time and head to the rural villages south of the Nepalese capital.

The first stop will be the town of Bungamati, located in the heart of the Lalitpur Valley. The majority of the population are Newar people, a community that has maintained their ancient culture, religion, and language. Throughout your tour, you'll learn about the customs and traditions of Newar Bungamati while exploring local monuments and landmarks. A key architectural highlight is the Temple of Machhindranath, known for its pearlescent domes.

Following Bungamati, you'll visit the nearby settlement of Khokana to explore more about the origins and history of the Newar civilization. Your guide will discuss the culture's evolution while you visit important religious buildings, including the 500-year-old Shree Rudrayani temple, notable for its three-storey architecture and intricate latticework.

At the end of your tour, you'll be returned to Kathmandu and dropped off at your hotel.
