Embrace your spiritual side on this guided tour of Hindu and Buddhist Kathmandu. Explore the Nepali capital's temples and discover its mystical culture and traditions.
Kathmandu Spiritual Tour Itinerary
On the day of your tour, you'll meet your guide at 3 pm at the Hotel Marshyangdi in Kathmandu. You'll take a public bus to the Boudhanath Stupa, the largest of its kind in Nepal. There, you will follow faithful pilgrims as they turn prayer wheels and have the chance to light a butter lamp, which aids in focusing the mind during meditation. You will also be able to interact with some monks at the temple complex.
Afterward, you will return to a public bus headed to Pashupatinath, one of the world's most significant Hindu temples. Your guide will provide insights into the Hindu understanding of the cycle of birth and death as you explore the temple complex, built in pagoda style. You will learn about the Sadhus, holy individuals who have renounced worldly life.
As the sun sets, you will have a peaceful walk to the sacred Bagmati River to attend a cremation ceremony, an important ritual in Hinduism.
After the spiritual experiences, you will have time to dine at a local restaurant (meal not included). Your tour will conclude around 8 pm.
