Kathmandu Temples Tour Details
On the day of your tour, you'll be picked up from your hotel at 9 am with your expert English-speaking guide. The first stop will be Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in front of the old royal palace of the former Newar Kingdom of Kathmandu. This area features palaces, temples, and courtyards that highlight Nepal's architectural heritage.
Next, you will travel by bus to the Pashupatinath temple, approximately a 20-minute journey to the east of Kathmandu Valley. This vast Hindu complex, dating back to the 5th century and dedicated to Shiva, includes over 500 temples and monuments built in the pagoda style, with a notable gold roof on the main sanctuary.
The tour continues to the Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath, one of the largest in the world and recognized as a significant spiritual site in Kathmandu.
Finally, you will visit Swayambhunath, known as the Monkey Temple. The site features significant architecture and colorful prayer flags, with the striking images of the Buddha's eyes and eyebrows watching over visitors. This location is one of Kathmandu's iconic landmarks.
