Yanarta? Eternal Flame Tour
At 4.30 pm, we will pick you up from your hotel in Kemer and head to the town of Cirali, passing through villages such as Kuzdere, Camyuva, and Tekirova.
In Cirali, we will visit its 3-kilometer (1.8 mile) beach for a swim and a stroll before sunset. Afterward, we will ascend Mount Chimera, also known as the Mount of the Eternal Fire, via a stone path. At the summit, the Yanartas fires burn continually, creating a striking nighttime display.
The legend involves Lycian king Iobates seeking Bellerophon to defeat Chimera, a fire-breathing monster. With assistance from Athena and Pegasus, Bellerophon trapped Chimera, leaving its fires to burn indefinitely. The flames are produced by methane accumulating in the mountain, escaping through fissures.
Following the fires, we will visit Ulupinar for dinner, featuring a main course, salad, and seasonal fruit for dessert. Finally, we will return to Kemer, with hotel drop-off around 11.30 pm, concluding the tour.
