Why visit the Truman Little White House?

In November 1946, Harry S. Truman visited Key West and became captivated by a manor house with a white façade. Known as the Little White House, it became Truman's preferred place to rest.

The Little White House holds significance in U.S. history. Built in 1890 as the headquarters of the Naval Base, it also hosted Thomas Edison in 1918 during his work on new war machines.

Now a museum, the Truman Little White House honors the president's fondness for this residence in Key West. Your ticket allows you to tour the various rooms and learn the interesting stories shared by the president and his wife, Bess, with their guests.

Critical decisions affecting the future of the U.S. and the world were made during meetings here, including agreements like the Marshall Plan and the Truman Doctrine.
