Why visit the Truman Little White House?
In November 1946, Harry S. Truman visited Key West and became captivated by a manor house with a white façade. It would later become known as the Little White House, a residence where the president often rested.
The Little White House holds significant historical importance. Built in 1890 as the headquarters of the Naval Base, it also served as a residence for Thomas Edison in 1918 while he worked on new war machine inventions.
Now converted into the Truman Little White House Museum, it honors the president's fondness for this property located in western Key West.
Your ticket grants access to tour various rooms and learn their interesting stories, including those where Truman and his wife Bess hosted guests. Key decisions, such as the Marshall Plan and the Truman Doctrine, were made in these spaces!
