Owia Salt Pond Tour
At 9 am, we will meet at the Kingstown cruise terminal and board a bus to the northern tip of the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, specifically to the town of Owia.
For about two hours, accompanied by a guide, we will travel along the entire east coast. We will pass through the agricultural village of Arnos Vale and stop in Young Island, where the cast of The Pirates of the Caribbean stayed during filming. We will then traverse Calliaqua and see its market, continuing north to Byera to visit the Black Point tunnel, used by ships to unload sugar cane.
As we walk through Black Point, we will discover hidden secrets. We'll also pass through Georgetown and the Rabacca Dry River, with a quick stop for photos, and Sandy Bay, home to one of the largest indigenous communities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Afterwards, we will return to the bus and arrive in Owia, where we will find Owia Salt Pond, a site of natural pools formed on volcanic rocks. We will explore the ponds for about an hour before concluding the tour at 3 pm.
