Sail Rock Scuba Diving Experience

Sail Rock is one of the most famous dive sites in the Gulf of Thailand. Immerse yourself in the clear waters after taking a boat from Koh Tao.

Important information

This activity is only suitable for certified divers who have dived in the previous 12 months. If you are a beginner, we recommend booking a different diving activity off the coasts of Koh Tao.

The day before the activity, you must go to the diving center before 2 pm to show your official diver certificate and fill out a form with your personal information. If you fail to do this, you cannot participate in the activity.

Sail Rock Scuba Diving Experience

The excursion will begin at the indicated time from the diving center in Sairee Beach. After brief instructions from your English-speaking monitor, you will head to Sail Rock, a pinnacle in the Gulf of Thailand, renowned for its currents and visibility.

During the approximately one and a half-hour journey, free drinks and snacks will be provided on board. Upon arrival, divers will be split into two groups: one for Open Water Divers (up to 18 meters) and another for advanced divers (up to 30 meters). Each group will complete two immersions.

Underwater, expect to see diverse marine flora and fauna, including schools of fish, barracudas, and possibly a whale shark. After completing the dives, we will return to Sairee Beach, six hours after departure.

More important information

If you have a diver certification but haven’t dived in over a year, you can still join this activity by completing a scuba refresher class, which costs 700 Thai bahts (approximately 19 EUR).

This activity will depend on weather conditions; the boat captain may cancel the trip if navigation to the dive site is deemed unsafe due to sea conditions.
