Amalienborg Palace Guided Tour Itinerary
At the indicated time, meet your guide at the main entrance to Amalienborg. This historic palace complex is the residence of the current Danish monarchs and an important monument in Copenhagen.
The tour begins with the octagonal courtyard surrounded by the four mansions. Your guide will reveal the history of the buildings, while you enjoy views of the elegant square, including the equestrian statue of King Frederick V, Frederik's Church, and the Copenhagen Opera House.
Amalienborg was originally built in the 18th century for the Danish nobility. After a fire in 1794, the monarchs made the complex their official home.
You will visit the Amalienborg Museum, featuring reconstructions of the royal offices and private rooms. Highlights include the Pompeian Chamber, Queen Louise’s salon, and the Throne Chamber.
