Amalienborg Palace Guided Tour Itinerary

At the indicated time, meet your guide at the main entrance to Amalienborg. The palace complex, located on the waterfront, is the residence of the current Danish monarchs.

The first part of your guided tour will introduce the octagonal courtyard surrounding the four mansions that comprise the palace. Your expert guide will reveal the history and secrets of the various buildings, while you admire views of the equestrian statue of King Frederick V, Frederik's Church, and the Copenhagen Opera House.

Amalienborg was originally built in the 18th century to house Danish nobility, but became the royal residence after a fire at Christiansborg Palace in 1794.

Inside, you'll visit the Amalienborg Museum, featuring reconstructions of the offices and private rooms of the Danish royals. You'll explore the Pompeian Chamber, Queen Louise’s salon, and the Throne Chamber.

After approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, the tour will conclude.
