On this guided tour of Copenhagen, participants will explore the most iconic sights in the Danish capital while enjoying a skip-the-line ticket to the famous Tivoli Gardens.
Tour Details
Participants will meet at the scheduled time by the Absalon Statue to begin the guided tour of Copenhagen’s historic center.
The tour will start with a stroll along Strøget, the main pedestrian street, showcasing its historic façades, shopping arcades, and lively squares which serve as true hubs of the old town.
Next, we'll arrive at Christiansborg Palace on the islet of Slotsholmen. From the outside, we’ll admire this complex, which serves as both the seat of the Danish Parliament and the setting for the Royal Reception Rooms. The tour will then proceed to the Stork Fountain located in Amagertorv, one of the city’s most recognizable squares.
After this, we will continue to Kongens Nytorv, a grand square bordered by landmarks such as the Royal Danish Theatre, Hotel d’Angleterre, the Magasin du Nord department store, and the French Embassy.
This monumental setting leads us to Nyhavn, known for its colorful historic buildings and maritime heritage. We'll also see the Playhouse, a contemporary waterfront building, and the Copenhagen Opera House across the water.
We will stop outside Amalienborg Palace, the official residence of the Danish Royal Family, guarded by the Royal Guard. The Marble Church, locally known as Frederik’s Church, will also be visible for its grand dome and neoclassical style. If time permits, we may walk through the King’s Garden and pass by Rosenborg Castle.
Our next stop will be the City Hall Square, where participants can observe the shift from the historic center to the larger, contemporary buildings.
After approximately 2 hours of guided sightseeing, the group will conclude the tour and participants will have free time to explore the interior of Tivoli Gardens at their own pace.
