Beautiful gardens, majestic architecture and an incredible collection of art: delve into Denmark's history and cultural heritage on this day trip to Frederiksborg Castle, the largest Renaissance palace in Scandinavia.

Day Trip Details

Meet your guide at Copenhagen Central Station and board a train to Hillerød. The journey lasts approximately one hour, showcasing the landscapes of Zealand. After arriving at Hillerød train station, enjoy a 15-minute walk to Frederiksborg Castle, situated on three islets on Slotssøen (Castle Lake).

Your guided tour starts in the castle's landscaped gardens, where you can stroll through the French-style parterres and mazes. Then, enter the castle, which hosts the Danish Museum of National History. This museum features antique furniture, historical paintings, and royal portraits. Key areas include the Audience Chamber?, the Great Hall, and the Frederiksborg Castle Chapel, known for its lavish altar and one of Europe's oldest organs.
