Your excursion will begin at Copenhagen Central Station, where you'll board a train northbound to Helsingør, approximately 1 hour away.
Upon arrival at Helsingør Railway Station, you will walk 20 minutes to Kronborg Castle, situated on Zealand Island. The fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dates back to the 15th century and was pivotal in controlling access to the Baltic Sea.
Enter the fortress via a bridge and appreciate the castle, which inspired Shakespeare's Hamlet. Explore the legends surrounding the Danish prince and the castle's history. Visit the halls of Kronborg Castle to understand its historical significance and the lives of its inhabitants. After touring the interior, we will stroll outside to view the collection of cannons and enjoy views from the gardens over the Øresund Strait to Helsingborg.
We will return to Helsingør train station around 12 pm to take the train back to Copenhagen, arriving one hour later.
Important Information
This day trip does not include transport or admission to Kronborg Castle. A 24-hour ticket for the train costs 130 DKK per person. Entrance to the castle varies: 90 DKK from September to May and 140 DKK from June to August. Children under 18 enter free.
If you have the Copenhagen Card, it includes transport to Helsingør and entrance to Kronborg Castle.
