Day Trip Details

Your excursion will begin at Copenhagen Central Station, where you'll board a train heading north to Helsingør, just 1 hour away. Upon arrival at Helsingør Railway Station, a short 20-minute walk will take you to Kronborg Castle on the northeastern tip of Zealand. This historic fortress, dating back to the 15th century, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Enter the complex via a bridge crossing the Baltic waters and witness the imposing castle that inspired Hamlet. Discover legends surrounding the Danish prince and explore the magnificent halls of Kronborg Castle to learn about its history and key inhabitants. After visiting the castle interior, enjoy a stroll outside to see an impressive collection of cannons, and take in views from the gardens of Kronborg over the Øresund Strait to the coastal Swedish town of Helsingborg.

Following the visit, we will walk back to Helsingør station around 12 pm to take the train back, arriving at Copenhagen Central Station in 1 hour.

Important Information

This day trip does not include transport or admission to Kronborg Castle. A 24-hour train ticket to Helsingør costs 130DKK per person. Admission to Kronborg Castle varies: 90DKK from September to May and 140DKK from June to August. Children under 18 are free. If you have the Copenhagen Card, transport and entrance are included.
