Embark on a journey through time with this remarkable excursion to Ephesus departing from Smyrna. You will explore the remnants of one of the most magnificent ancient cities located in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Details of the Day Trip

Your adventure begins in the morning as we collect you from a prearranged meeting spot in Izmir, and then head to the captivating ancient settlement of Ephesus on the Ionian coast.

After a travel time of approximately one and a half hours, we will arrive at the Ephesus site, recognized as one of the most well-preserved Greco-Roman cities in the region. A guided tour will lead you through its monumental treasures, including the Library of Celsus, famed for being one of the most opulent bibliographic repositories of the Roman Empire within the Eastern Mediterranean.

Another significant highlight on this exploration of Ephesus is the Temple of Artemis as well as the Temple of Hadrian, erected in honor of the renowned Roman emperor. Nearby rests the impressive Roman Theater, boasting a capacity of 24,000 spectators.

Following our exploration of Ephesus, we will recharge with a tasty Turkish meal at a local eatery. Once our hunger is satisfied and our photos reflect cherished memories, we will head back to the minibus for our return to Izmir.

The excursion concludes as we arrive back at the original meeting location after a total duration of 8 to 9.5 hours.
