Discover the ruins of the ancient city of Pergamon on this excursion from Izmir. You'll visit its temples, library, palaces and, of course, the Asclepeion.

Pergamon Ruins Excursion

At 8 am on the morning of the tour, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Izmir. From there, we'll hop on a comfortable minibus for the ride to the Turkish province of Bergama.

After an hour and a half, we'll arrive at the Greek city of Pergamon. Walking amongst the ruins, you'll discover places like its terraces, the acropolis, the temples built in honor of Greek and Roman gods and the famous Altar of Zeus.

Our next stop will be at the Asclepeion of Pergamon, dedicated to Asclepius, the god of medicine and healing. This was used as a healing temple where you'll learn about ancient treatment techniques.

The last visit of the day will be to the Archaeological Museum of Pergamon, where we'll see remnants of the old city and continue learning about the history of this area.

Once we've worked up an appetite, we will take you to a local restaurant to enjoy a buffet lunch with typical dishes of the area.

At the end of the tour, we'll make our way back to Izmir and you'll be taken back to your hotel, arriving around 5 pm.
