SSI Open Water Diver Course

Day 1: Confined waters

The SSI Open Water Diver Course is designed for travelers wanting to learn scuba diving in the Andaman Sea. The first day begins at 10 am at the dive centre. After reviewing theoretical concepts, participants will spend two hours practicing basic SSI Open Water Diving techniques on the beach. Following a two-hour break for lunch (not included), diving will resume at 2 pm in confined waters for another two hours. The day concludes at 6 pm at the original meeting point.

Day 2: Scuba diving

On the second day, participants choose to meet at either 7:20 am or 1:20 pm at the dive centre. After equipment preparation, divers will explore the underwater life around Koh Phi Phi Le in Phi Phi Islands National Park. The day includes one hour of diving, a break, and another hour of diving, culminating in a test for the SSI Open Water certificate. The activity ends at the original meeting point.

Day 3: Scuba diving

On the third day, divers will participate in two one-hour dives in Koh Phi Phi Le. Starting times are selectable during the booking process.

Scuba diving theory

After reserving, a dossier containing theory of scuba diving will be sent. This must be studied at home and brought on the first day of the course.

Who can participate in this activity?

A swimming test is required on the first day: 200 meters freestyle with no time limit.

Dive sites may change due to weather conditions or group requirements.

Required documentation

Participants must sign a medical form at the diving centre to engage in the scuba diving activity.
