SSI Open Water Diver Course

Day 1: Confined waters

The SSI Open Water Diver Course is suitable for travellers wishing to learn to scuba dive in the Andaman Sea. We will meet at 10 am at the dive centre. Using the theory studied at home, we will spend two hours practicing basic SSI Open Water Diving techniques at the beach. After a two-hour break for lunch (not included), we will reconvene at 2 pm to dive for two hours in confined waters. The first day concludes at 6 pm back at the original meeting point.

Day 2: Scuba diving

The second day starts at either 7:20 am or 1:20 pm, based on your selection. After equipping ourselves, we will dive to explore the underwater life around Koh Phi Phi Le. We will have an hour of scuba diving around the coral reefs, followed by a surface break before diving again for an hour. After approximately four and a half hours of diving, participants can take a test to qualify for the SSI Open Water certificate. The day ends back at the original meeting point.

Day 3: Scuba diving

On the third day, more diving will occur in the waters of Koh Phi Phi Le, with two one-hour dives. You can select your starting time during the booking process.

Scuba diving theory

Upon reservation, a dossier containing the theory of scuba diving will be sent. This must be studied at home and brought on the first day of the course.

Who can participate in this activity?

A swimming test of 200 metres freestyle with no time limit is required on the first day.

Itinerary changes

Dive sites may change based on weather conditions or group needs.

Required documentation

A medical form must be signed at the diving centre to participate in this scuba diving activity.
