Description
At the designated time, we'll meet at the port of Kristiansand to embark on a journey exploring the history and prominent landmarks of this city. Kristiansand was named after the Danish King Christian IV and has been significant in regional trade since the 17th century. We will admire the exterior of the city's fortress as part of this history.
The fish market is central to the historic district, notable for its vibrant colors and wooden structure. As we continue, we'll stroll along the marina and the banks of the river Otra, eventually reaching the picturesque Posebyen district, which contains one of Scandinavia's largest groups of old houses and survived a devastating fire in the 19th century.
Before concluding, we will pass by the magnificent Kristiansand Cathedral. After 2.5 hours of exploration, participants may choose to part ways in the center of Kristiansand or return to the starting point together.
