Kristiansand was named after the Danish King Christian IV. We'll delve into the 17th century to uncover this history. Kristiansand has played a pivotal role in the region's trade, evidenced by the exterior of the city's fortress.
The fish market holds significance in the historic center, characterized by its vibrant colors and wooden structure.
We'll continue along the marina, walk alongside the banks of the river Otra, and explore the Posebyen district, which has one of the largest concentrations of old houses in Scandinavia and survived a devastating fire in the 19th century.
