Description
At the designated time, we'll meet at the port of Kristiansand to embark on a journey through the history and landmarks of this city in southern Norway.
Kristiansand was named after the Danish King Christian IV. We will explore its 17th century origins and the significant role it played in regional trade, including the city's fortress.
The fish market is central to the historic area, characterized by its wooden structure and vibrant atmosphere.
Our stroll will take us along the marina, beside the river Otra, and into the Posebyen district, known for its large concentration of old houses in Scandinavia, many of which survived a devastating fire in the 19th century.
Before concluding, we'll pass by the impressive Kristiansand Cathedral. After 2.5 hours of exploration, you can choose to part ways in the center of Kristiansand or return to our starting point.
